Social media management

Social is a practice we're growing beside the advisory work. When a company wants the channels held to the same standard as the business, we can take full management, build a system your team runs, or take a single service, and the fee is proposed in writing.

A conversation, then a proposal

We learn the business, which channels matter, and what your team should stop doing by hand, then we propose the services and the fee. That may be full management, a system your team runs, or only the posts, the strategy, branding for social, a workshop, a shoot, or the ads.

We keep the pace of this work close to the principal while the practice grows, so each engagement gets the same attention as the rest of the firm. If it looks like a fit, the next step is a conversation and a written proposal. If the problem is how the company runs, operations is the place to start.

Who we work with

Owner-led companies and growing firms in Maine and New England that are already serving customers, including professional practices, hospitality, shops, trades, properties, and multi-location businesses. Strategy, content, branding, and training on the system are done remotely, and photography and on-site workshops are within about forty-five minutes of Brunswick, which covers Greater Portland.

We work with businesses that are already open to customers, and we don't staff a media department or post every day on every network.

Fees

After the first conversation we send a written proposal. The fee depends on how many channels, how many posts a month, whether photography or video is included, and which services you take. A strategy engagement, a system build, and full management are not the same number. Travel past about forty-five minutes from Brunswick is priced before a shoot.

We don't publish a monthly rate. When the work includes paid social, the proposal names whether that is advice or running the ads. Media spend stays in your ad account.

What we do

Choose full management, a system your team runs, or a single service, and the proposal names what is included.

Full management

Social media management

We run the channels for you.

Strategy, design, captions, comments, and a monthly meeting with your team. The proposal names the platforms and how many posts, and you approve the calendar before anything publishes.

  • Manage the channels named in the proposal
  • Write the strategy, including the campaign calendar
  • Design and caption the posts, in the brand
  • Reply to comments on weekdays, during Maine business hours
  • Hold a monthly planning meeting
  • Send a monthly report

Your team runs it

Social system

We build the system, including the AI support, then train the people who will run it.

The workflow and the tools live in accounts you own. We train the people who post day to day until they can execute a week on their own. After that, posting stays with your team unless the proposal also includes management. Training is by video, or on site within about forty-five minutes of Brunswick.

  • Who drafts, who approves, and what publishes
  • The tools and the AI support your team will use
  • Templates and a calendar they can repeat
  • Training with the people who do the work
  • A written guide they keep

Single services

Content creation

Posts produced to an agreed monthly count.

For a company that will publish itself, or that wants the making done and nothing else. We agree the number of posts first, then produce them.

  • Meet first on the brand, the audience, and the channels
  • Produce an agreed number of posts each month
  • Hold a monthly call to plan the next set
  • Write the concepts from the strategy

Strategy

For teams that already publish and need a plan.

You keep publishing while we set the goals, write the plan, and meet with you each month to set the next one.

  • Set the goals and the numbers you will watch
  • Write the strategy and the campaign ideas
  • Meet monthly with your team
  • Report on which posts drew comments, saves, and profile visits, plus reach and new followers

Social branding

A guide and templates so the feed stays consistent.

Enough for your team to post in a consistent look and voice. A full brand, including name, mark, and system, is Brand Launch.

  • A social brand guide, or a social section of a brand you already have
  • Templates for feed posts and stories
  • Presets so photographs stay consistent

Workshops

A working session with your team.

On site in Greater Portland, or by video, built around your business so you leave with a written plan.

  • A briefing before we meet
  • A live workshop, led by us
  • A deck of recommendations and a content plan

Paid social

Advice on the ads, or we plan and run them.

A boost on a post that is already working, or a campaign with its own audience and creative. The proposal names which. Media spend stays in your ad account.

  • A recommendation on whether to boost or run a campaign
  • The goal, the audience, and the dates
  • Setup in your ad account
  • A read on what the spend did

Field work

Photography and video

Booked on its own, on site within about forty-five minutes of Brunswick.

A half-day, a shorter visit, or a defined shot list within about forty-five minutes of Brunswick, which covers Greater Portland. Video includes the edit and captions, and it can be part of a management month or a single job.

  • Photographs of the work, the place, the product, or the team
  • Video, edited and captioned
  • Design for a post, a flyer, or a print piece, when that is the assignment

What stays with you

Yours

The accounts, the followers, and the files stay yours. One person approves the calendar within three business days. Prices, health or legal claims, and a photograph of someone who has not signed a release all wait for a yes.

Outside this scope

Nights, weekends, and review sites stay with you. A full brand system is Brand Launch. The advisory retainer covers counsel and does not include this work.

Common questions

Questions we hear most often

What is social media management at Method & Matter?

Social media management means we run the channels for you, including the strategy, the posts, weekday replies, a monthly planning meeting, and a report. We can also build the social system, including the AI support, and train the people who will use it day to day. Companies can hire a single service such as content creation, strategy for a team that already posts, social branding, a workshop, photography and video, or paid social. The proposal names what is included. This practice is growing beside the advisory work, and a conversation is how we see whether a proposal is the right next step.

How much does social media management cost in Greater Portland, Maine?

We don't publish a monthly rate. After a conversation we send a written proposal. The fee depends on the channels, how many posts a month, whether we photograph or film, and which services are included, so two channels under full management are a different fee from strategy for an in-house team or from a single shoot. If the work includes paid social, the proposal names that too. Media spend stays in your ad account.

What changes the fee?

Adding a channel, raising the number of posts, including a shoot, or adding replies will change the proposal. Eight posts a month and twenty posts a month are different engagements. A half-day of photography within about forty-five minutes of Brunswick is priced on its own when it is not already inside management. Travel beyond about forty-five minutes of Brunswick is priced before we book the day, and the length of the engagement is named in the proposal.

How many posts do you publish each month?

There's no standard count, so we name the number in the proposal before work starts. On a management engagement that number includes the plan, the replies, and the monthly meeting. Adapting one post for a second platform still counts as one post.

Do you film the content, or do I send photos?

Either works. Photography and video are a separate service: a half-day on site, a shorter visit, or a defined shot list within about forty-five minutes of Brunswick, which covers Greater Portland. We edit and caption the footage. If you already have the photographs, content and management are produced from what you send, and the proposal says which.

Which platforms do you manage?

We manage the platforms named in the proposal, which for a local business is often Instagram and Facebook, and for a professional firm is often Instagram and LinkedIn. Another channel is an additional fee, and each post is cropped and captioned for the platform it runs on.

Do you respond to comments and messages?

On a management engagement, yes. We reply on weekdays during Maine business hours on posts we published. A sale, a complaint, or a question we should not answer comes to you the same day. Nights, weekends, and review sites stay with your team, and content creation alone doesn't include replies.

Do you run social media ads?

Yes. We can advise on paid social, or plan and run it. The proposal names the scope. Media spend stays in your ad account.

Who owns the accounts and the files?

You do. Profiles, followers, and files stay in your name while we work as managers on accounts you own, and when the engagement ends the accounts stay where they are.

How is this different from Brand Launch or an Owner Go-to-Market Strategy?

Brand Launch is the full brand, including name, mark, and system, while social branding is a guide and templates for the feed, for a company that already has an identity or needs only that layer. An Owner Go-to-Market Strategy is a written plan at $3,900 covering offer, message, channels, and sequence. Social work can follow that plan and is proposed on its own. The small-business advisory retainer is $2,200 a month for counsel and does not include posting or photography. A program-tier retainer is quoted in writing.
